Six talks, each tailored to your audience.

Every Engineer Is an Agent Manager

How do you get a whole team using AI, not just the enthusiasts?

For engineering and product leaders

Read the abstract

Directing agents is a skill: scoping work, giving context, reviewing output, knowing when to take the wheel. At G2 I took an engineering organization from zero AI usage to 92% active adoption in seven months, and the biggest lever was not a mandate or a tool. It was coaching agent management the way we coach code review. I'll show the rollout, the budget guardrails and the mistakes, and leave you with a first-90-days plan you can run on Monday.

The Harness Is the Product: Running Delivery Where Agents Do the Work

How do you keep humans in charge when agents do the building?

For engineering leaders and senior engineers

Read the abstract

Ad-hoc prompting does not scale to a team. A delivery harness does: phase-gated skills from triage to close, specialist subagents, an isolated git worktree for every ticket, and repo conventions that agents and engineers both read. The rules matter more than the models: complexity gates decide when a person approves the plan, every pull request gets a human review against a checklist, and agents never merge. You'll leave with the operating rules, written down, that you can take to your security team.

Judge the System by Its At-Bats

How do you measure AI-era engineering without turning it into surveillance?

For directors, vps and ctos

Read the abstract

Lines of AI-written code is a vanity metric, and ranking people on usage destroys trust. A better question is whether the system gives the business enough at-bats: shipped experiments, each with a hypothesis, a metric and a result. I'll show how to pair at-bats with DORA and DX Core 4, keep usage data team-level and visible to the engineer first, and celebrate failed hypotheses so they get reported honestly.

Spend Like an Owner: AI Budgets, Gateways and Model Routing

How do you stop AI spend from becoming an unexplained line item?

For engineering directors, platform teams and finance partners

Read the abstract

AI spend arrives without a budget owner and grows faster than anyone forecasts. Route every call through a gateway, give each team a budget, send routine work to cheaper models, and forecast to fiscal year-end with a range. I'll show how spend moved from zero to broad adoption with visibility per team, and why cheaper defaults beat after-the-fact policing. Includes a walkthrough of a live spend report.

Quality Is the Developer's Job: Replacing Manual QA with AI-Assisted Testing

What happens when you take a QA stage out of the pipeline, and do it kindly?

For engineering managers and directors

Read the abstract

At Gartner Digital Markets we replaced a dedicated QA function with developer-owned, AI-assisted test automation and training. Developer efficiency rose 20% and bugs fell 12%. The tools were the easy part. I'll cover how to make the case, how to retrain rather than discard expertise, how to talk about role changes honestly, and what you should instrument before you start.

Smaller Teams, Wider Scope: Leading Through a Restructure in the AI Era

How do you reshape a team honestly while delivery keeps going?

For executives, directors and managers

Read the abstract

I led a 25-person, three-region organization to 13 while keeping delivery on track, then separated our platform from its former parent through the acquisition by G2. When agents absorb throughput, teams get smaller and each person's scope gets wider. I'll share what I'd do the same and differently: saying it plainly and early, making decisions once, protecting the people who stay, and the team shapes that work with agents (human pods, agent squads, a platform team).

Short bio

Thomas Tucker is a Senior Director of Engineering at G2 who runs teams where AI agents are part of the delivery system. He took an engineering organization from zero AI usage to 92% active adoption in seven months, and has led teams across the US, Spain and India through a restructuring and an acquisition. He speaks about running AI-assisted delivery with care for the people in it.

Introduction for the host

Thomas Tucker leads engineering at G2, where AI agents are part of how his teams plan, build and test software. He took his organization from zero AI usage to 92% adoption in seven months, and he's here to show you the system behind it, including what didn't work. Please welcome Thomas Tucker.

A/V

One slide deck, 16:9. I bring a backup recorded demo so a venue's Wi-Fi never decides the talk. Lavalier or headset mic preferred.

High-resolution headshot available on request.

Questions

Speaking FAQ

What does it cost?
It depends on format, travel and whether the event is paid. Tell me your budget range, or if there isn't one; I'll say honestly whether I'm a fit.
Can you tailor the talk to our audience?
Yes. Tell me who's in the room and what they decide next quarter. Every talk is tailored on request.
Do you do remote talks and podcasts?
Yes, both.
Will you record or share slides?
Yes, if we agree on terms up front.
Can you speak about specific company results?
I share ratios and what I learned, not company financials or internal tool names.

Want it for the whole team?

Every talk has a hands-on workshop version: on-site anywhere, or remote.
